

Theseus the duke of Athens and Hippolyta the queen of the amazons discuss their upcoming wedding with Favor and excitement. When Egeus the father of Hermia comes to the duke with a complaint, his daughter is promised to Demetrius whom loves her. While Hermias heart belongs to Lysander. Theseus demands the law be upheld if Hermia does not comply too her father’s wishes she goes to a nunnery or is put to death. Lysander Proposes that they run away to his aunts home seven leagues from Athens, and Helana confesses to Hermia that she is jealous of Demetrius love for her. Helana tells Demetrius of the plan to elope in hopes to win his love. Demetrius runs after them, thus is how they end up in the forest.
A group of theater men band together to discuss a play they plan to put on after Theseus wedding. They find a spot in the forest that is good to rehearse the play about two tragic lovers. They quarl some about parts and a man by the last name bottom wants to play every part. In the midst of arguing they are frightened by a bear and all run away. Bottom falls asleep in a random spot and everyone assumes he has been eaten by the bear.
Two fairies in the forest are mad about the possession of a servant the queen fairy Tatiana refuses to give him to the king Oberon. Oberon vows to get revenge by making her fall in love with an idiotic object with the juice of a flower. He sends his servant Pluck to go get the flower.
The humans fall asleep in a grove and Pluck decides to play a prank on them and messes up the love triangle. Oberon gets his revenge and Tatiana falls in love with Bottom whom now has the head of an ass. And the fairies have a great laugh. Oberon finds out about the mishap with the humans and sends Pluck to fix it.
